Are you interested in solving hard, important technical problems?
Next term we are restarting OAISI Projects — a great place to learn more about technical solutions to AI safety. We have a wide selection of technical projects you can work on, but feel free to come up with your own! There are also experienced technical researchers who are happy to mentor people like you. We meet on Thursdays (6–9pm) in the Computer Science department during term time.
Are you interested in devising policies and strategies to make sure AI goes well?
Next term we are running [whatever non-technical thing we decide to run].
-
Have you thought about important problems in AI safety for a while and want to deepen your understanding?
Join the Technical Roundtable on Monday evenings. We start with discussing the newest developments in the field of AI safety before moving onto an in-depth presentation on one of our members’ work, which we then discuss over dinner.
This winter we will likely be running our third iteration of ARBOx. This is a 2-week intensive bootcamp to rapidly build skills in ML. We follow ARENA’s course: building GPT-2-small, learning interpretability techniques, understanding RLHF, and replicating key research papers.

If you want to engage with the AI Safety community here, get in touch and we’ll be happy to help you out!
Some things you can do: give a talk + Q&A, join our socials, or drop into one of our reading groups or sessions.
